Who is this for?
Several years of advisory and consulting with entrepreneurs, teaching and facilitation have equipped me with critical insights into the world of social impact. And I love sharing those insights. I have taught at universities, presented research and experiential learning outcomes at conferences and have talked about the power of business as a force for good to many companies, their CEOs and interested communities. If you are looking for a speaker, teacher, facilitator or simply someone who can shed more light on the complex issues of advancing social and/or environmental change, I'm your gal!
What I talk about when I talk about social change
I have taught anything from guest lectures to semester-long graduate-level courses on social entrepreneurship and innovation at Virginia Commonwealth University, University of Richmond Robins School of Business, William and Mary and Trinity College at University of Melbourne. I judged a number of student startup competitions, talked about leadership and career development, and ran pre-acceleration programs for student entrepreneurs. I believe social entrepreneurship is best learned through experience, not reading; hence my approach to teaching is hands-on and practical as opposed to text-book heavy.
At conferences around the world, I have presented my research on international best practices for social enterprise support (learn more on Social Venturers), impact-driven startups, acceleration, entrepreneurial ecosystem building and Certified B Corps.
In order to build the community of companies that use business as a force for good, I have given many talks to companies, CEOs, employees and interested groups of business owners about the social enterprise and B Corp movement. From an Introduction to B Corp to Virginia's first B Corp Conference B Local Series I am able to cover everything from the basics of certification to diving deep into specific topics such as leadership, communication, re-certification and recruiting and managing talent for purpose-driven companies.
